How do i flash the 1.6 FLB Update?

All i know how to do is the software update?

ALSO, is there any bugs with this one? Or is it the same as 1.5 FLB, but with Swap?

This update?

v1.6a - 15th September 2010 Latest Release

This is basically 1.5 with the new kernel. If you are running 1.5 with the new kernel already then you don't need to update.

Changelog:

- Fixed: will now flash with amon_ra recovery

- Fixed: Missing files in setup script.

- New: Custom kernel with swap support. Either partition your SD to include a swap partition or use Swapper2 from the market to make a swapfile.

- Updated: ADW Launcher updated to 1.1.5

No launcherpro version right now sorry.

FLB-Mod v1.6a with swap & ADW.Launcher 1.1.5

You know what? You really annoy me. Why don't you learn how to search and stop making useless topics that wouldn't exist if you knew how to read "The Ultimate Pulse Guide".

My intention is not to offend anyone, just to make you realize that topics like this are STUPID.

So yeah, go read the Ultimate Pulse Guide (it's a sticky) and please don't make any more topics like this. Stickies exist for a reason. So does the search link

Yes, it's a custom ROM. But it's alpha, so beware :) To install it, you have to flash the zip from Clockwork/Amon RA, the same way you flashed FLB-MOD 1.5... It's OK posting a new thread, but you should really search the forum before posting a question

Theres a sticky post (up the top) called the ultimate pulse owners guide. It tells you how to do pretty much everything.

Alternatively you can go to the wiki, also sticky

It's a Alpha?, So does that mean there's bugs and stuff?

And sorry, just so not use to android and some of the guides confuse me.

Sorry :)

Yes it's alpha... Despite being relatively stable, there's a few annoying bugs (camera doesn't work, video doesn't work, ...). I haven't had a stability problem since I installed 2.2 on my phone, but YMMV.

Oh okay, better leave it still a more stable version is released.

Any word on when a stable version will be released?

Cheers.

FLB-Mod 1.6 is stable.

FLB-Mod 2.0 isn't stable.

FLB MOD 2 is a Froyo (2.2) Alpha (Surprisingly few bugs)

FLB MOD 1 - 1.6 is a 2.1 rom with SWAP support

So unless you intend to use swap there is no point in upgrading from FLB 1.5

But believe me, you really want swap!

As for FLB mod 2 (Froyo) it's really just a taster of whats to come for the likes of you and me

But it is a working prototype for devs and a testing build

You can flash either one by following the steps in the Ultimate Pulse Owners Guide :)

Hope that's cleared it up a little

I'd say that it's stable. The fact that camera and video playback don't work doesn't make it unstable

I know I can't get further from the topic, but when's this Miner Wars going to come out? It looks interesting.

But I do agree, people should read the Ultimate Pulse Owners Guide.

Hell, I should put it in my sig, I post in every topic! :)

@Fusion - It's not as stable and 100% working as FLB 1, so I view it as not stable. Doesn't mean I don't use Froyo though!

I agree, In fact if anything, id say apart from the few small bugs, its more stable in terms of speed and crashing (lack of)

+1

The speed and stability of 2.2 is MUCH BETTER when compared to 2.1. Even without camera, video, etc... IMHO it's much better than any Eclair ROM.

To be fair, the guide doesn't really give you a quick way of flashing this Kernel, and some threads ramble on for 10+ pages with useful info buried.

Here is the way I did it - from 1.5 FLB (no a2sd), NO computer required. Download Swapper 2 from the market ready to use later. Download the FLB-Mod v1.5 Swap Kernel

"Download: 2.6.29-flb.zip (2.43 MB)" to your SD card - I had to move the file to the SD card main directory as it had downloaded to 'download' !!

Go into ROM Manager and do a Backup Current ROM. Then back into ROM Manager and Install ROM from SD card - find the 2.6.29-flb.zip.

Now go and set up / turn on Swapper 2.

To check that it's working...... - I'll make you go and read the threads for that

Learning to flash Android ROMs can be a steep learning curve. I was terrified the first time I did it (with an unofficial ROM) - I'd catch hell for quite a while if I broke my new phone.

Before I did it, I downloaded everything I needed, having read all the appropriate threads. And I mean ALL! Just because a thread is 78 pages long, it doesn't mean you can't read it! Might take half an hour, but you'll soon learn to skip the pointless bits (people asking questions that have already been answered for instance) and pick up the info you need and much more as well.

I learned how to install AmonRa recovery. That was easy enough. Then I learned how to access it. Then I saw how to wipe various bits, and then flash. I'd worked out that I would be starting with a blank card, so I copied the flash zip to another card and used that - I didn't know the recovery program could transfer files at the time.

Now I flash without fear. Take the new Froyo alpha release - I started downloading it (having come for FLB 1.6), and read the instructions while it downloaded. Went without a hitch, although there are a couple of problems, but nothing major. (Oh, did I mention that the camera doesn't work???? Why do people still ask this??? It's stated throughout the 70-odd page thread, and right at the start of the alpha release thread, and STILL they ask! )

I've even downloaded and flashed ROMs whilst sitting on the throne, and it didn't prevent nature taking it's course, because I'd learnt what to do.

So what's my point? I suppose it's that ALL the information required is on this forum, and if it isn't, Google will find it (and often send you back here). I often think that if you can't figure it out, you should probably stick with the official release. I realise that many on here have English as a second language (and big ups to you for that!) but the same applies - if you can't work it out, you probably shouldn't do it!

Anyway, with 2.2 installed, when I open the camera, I just see black and white squares. Can somebody fix this please? :)

I am abit scared about bricking my phone or somthing, as im new to android, i dont know really much bar the basic.

But i have flashed the 1.6 FLB Mod, With Success :).

I see your point, it's just, im impatient. I hate waiting, but i know its bad, i should wait.

But i see where your coming from, i should search and read, i actully do read alot, but i still get scared!

Mega Lol'z.

Cheers FLB for everything youve done :)
