Videos - appears to be a video viewing program Wi-Fi Hotspot 2: Rotation now happens when phone is turned to the left or to the right - finally I can charge my phone from the left hand side when lying down !! :) 3: New "Settings" homescreen icons (Bluetooth, GPS, Mobille, Wifi) 4: New lock screen options: - Lock phone after inactivity immediately/3mins/5mins/10mins/15mins) - You can now use pattern, PIN or password to unlock (previously only pattern was available and risked security of the phone as greasy marks revealed your pattern  ) 5: Wifi Reception seems MUCH better (previously I only got 2 bar signal in my bedroom - now I get FULL) 6: Install Apps to SD Card option (you can do this by installing the app then going to Menu>Settings>Applications>Manage Applications - find the app you want to move and click on it - if it can be moved to SD the "Move to SD Card" box is available, if its greyed out, SD card is not an otpion for that app) 7: Adobe Flash Player 10.1 Edited September 18, 2010 by zippyioa

Guest zippyioa Posted September 18, 2010 Report Posted September 18, 2010 Does this method keep all your settings texts etc...? Just checked SMS, emails, contacts etc all appear to be intact The only thing changed for me so far is the swipe pattern when the phone sleeps - you can re-enable and there are new options too... Lock phone after inactivity immediately/3mins/5mins/10mins/15mins) You can now use pattern, PIN or password
Guest zippyioa Posted September 18, 2010 Report Posted September 18, 2010 (edited) It does appear to have wiped my mobile internet settings... could be because the phone/ROM is for T-Mobile but I am using a Vodafone SIM? the correct settings to enable Vodafone mobile internet and MMS were a bugger to find - luckily I have them written down! For anyone else who might need the Vodafone pay monthly settings: Name: Vodafone UK-Contract APN: wap.vodafone.co.uk Proxy: Port: User: wap Password: wap Server: MMSC: http://mms.vodafone.co.uk/servlets/mms MMS Proxy:212.183.137.12 MMS Port: 8799 MCC: 234 MNC: 15 Authentication Type: APN Type: Edited September 18, 2010 by zippyioa

Guest neo158 Posted September 20, 2010 Report Posted September 20, 2010 4: New lock screen options: - Lock phone after inactivity immediately/3mins/5mins/10mins/15mins) - You can now use pattern, PIN or password to unlock (previously only pattern was available and risked security of the phone as greasy marks revealed your pattern  ) 5: Wifi Reception seems MUCH better (previously I only got 2 bar signal in my bedroom - now I get FULL) 6: Install Apps to SD Card option (you can do this by installing the app then going to Menu>Settings>Applications>Manage Applications - find the app you want to move and click on it - if it can be moved to SD the "Move to SD Card" box is available, if its greyed out, SD card is not an otpion for that app) 7: Adobe Flash Player 10.1 The new lockscreen options are a godsend as it allows for better security. Installing apps to SD is a fantastic option and has allowed me to install far more apps than before, considering it was the Orange Eclair ROM :) it makes a big difference and Flash 10.1 support is fantastic although I recommend changing the plugins option to on-demand to speed up browsing. Wifi reception will be better as the Froyo ROM unlocks the chipset support for 802.11n. I've also noticed better mobile signal reception than before, I used to get 3 bars before and now it's a full signal almost all of the time. I'm currently using the stock HTC Desire Froyo ROM and the speed increase is dramatic compared to the Orange ROM that was on there before.
