Calendar/Market issues - r8 Froyo MCR

Running under the R8 Froyo final release, I'm having persistent problems with calender syncing and with opening market (and installing apps from qcode too).

Calendars don't sync at all, if I clear the calender cache then I lose all calender data and don't get it back. I've also cleared gmail cache as well (every gmail app I could find) as well as any other cache that seemed vaguely related, including Market.

When I open the market, it flashes for a moment and then closes straight away without prompting for a force-close. If I open via a qcode then it falls back to the browser.

Any ideas?

What rom had you before ? Did you do a full wipe when installing ? I think the best way will be to backup everything with Titanium, and reflash with full wipe. I've had the R8 for a while, and have the R9 now and never had such problem...

The previous rom was umm, r5 MCR I think. I did do a full wipe for this one though I restored the apps with Titanium. From memory, it worked ok for a few days after installing R8 before developing problems.
