Cheap car charger bricked my Omnia

Bought a car charger off of E-Bay. Said it was compatible with i900 and i910. Plugged it into car A/C outlet then into phone - blank, black screen. Now I can't get my i900L to turn on, much less be able to do a soft or hard reset.

Any ideas at all on saving this phone - pretty desperate here!

Was there any sort of pop or weird smell associated with plugging device into charger?

Along time ago I bought a cheap Wallgreens charger and had nothing but problems. Though it pains me to give so much money to vzw for theirs but not one of them has failed. I either loose them or break them myself.

No sound and no smell. This charger had a light up ring around the butt-end of the charger grip and it never lit up at all. Just plugged it in and...nothing. Basic black screen. The charger is branded "Sprint", but ad said it was good for either the i900 or i910 (Sprint would be an i910), but connection-wise should be the same (I would think)
