Guest chopperthedog Posted September 19, 2010 Report Posted September 19, 2010 (edited) Any device exposed to water should have the battery IMMEDIATELY pulled. Device should next be disassembled. The hard part is not to power on device for 3 days. Two methods I've seen. Put pieces in a bowl of uncooked rice and also covered with rice with lid on. For 3 days rice will draw moisture out. Or place disassembled device in small room with space heater (don't put device in front of it) with thermostat set to maintain a very dry 78-80 degrees to allow adequate drying time 3 days again. This worked with an old moto razr that fell out of pocket into a puddle. All it takes is one little speck of moisture to cross 2 legs of an integrated circuit (which are about 4 times the size of a human hair) under power to cause unrepairable damage. good luck Edit: Obviously use of a space heater would require you to follow guidelines of operation manual including all safety recommendations. good day. Guest djsolidsnake86 Posted September 20, 2010 Report Posted September 20, 2010 i tried with a hair dryer 2 days ago. for 10-15 minutes and no changing i wait some others days for see if will work correctly! for now the things that don't work are: usb connection, off button that don't close the phone (remain with a black screen with a little of backlight) so i must take the battery, when i put the battery in to the phone it start automatically, and if i set the backlight to minimum there is a little problem that remain on in some occasions
Guest djsolidsnake86 Posted September 20, 2010 Report Posted September 20, 2010 news: the connection to pc seem that now work correctly! the omnia was under the morning sun, and is now under it!
Guest fashion_m Posted September 29, 2010 Report Posted September 29, 2010 How did you wet your phone? If it turns on when you put the battery then maybe the power button is wet and is always short.
