Guest 1of2 Posted September 19, 2010 Report Posted September 19, 2010 (edited) HI I updated from r8 to r9 and my WIFI stopped working, it can see my wireless LAN and connect with the right password and the WIFI indicator shows connected in both the top bar and in the network settings, but no IP address is received. using adb-linux shell and issuing "route" it is empty if I add the ip address manually the WIFI works: ifconfig eth0 192.168.10.100 up route add default gw 192.168.10.1 dev eth0 however, if I turn the wifi off then on I'm it does not get the IP but all indications are it reconnected. It seems that the dhcp client is broken some how. Re-flashed r8 but the result is the same ? I have another identical HTC desire, and that works on the LAN perfectly (running r8), and I did not upgrade that one, so its not my Wireless LAN My problem now is I want to re-flash the original Android 2.1 stock ROM back to the device, I have the rom.zip files from the both the these files: RUU_Bravo_HTC_Europe_1.15.405.1_Radio_32.30.00.28U_4.05.00.11_release_121684.exe RUU_Bravo_HTC_Europe_1.15.405.3_Radio_32.30.00.28U_4.05.00.11_release_121865.exe and when I try to recover either of them using ClockworkMode Recovery, get an error message indicating that the recovery cannot open them or the magic number failed, now they both unzip file on my PC ok, so the files are fine. I renamed rom.zip to update.zip and stored it on the /sdcard Using ClockworkMode Recovery, I get: --- installing: SDCARD:update.zip Finding update package... Opening update package... E:Can't open /sdcard/update.zip (bad) Installation aborted. How can this be fixed. Thanks. UPDATE: ======== After formatting all the Partitions with ClockwordMod */system /data /boot" and reinstalling r9 all is now working. I'd still like to know how to re-flash stock roms in case I have to send the phone back for warrenty. Edited September 19, 2010 by 1of2
