Guest Kinosaki Posted September 19, 2010 Report Posted September 19, 2010 (edited) Hi, my phone is currently stuck in emergency mode after the updater closing at 4% and when my phone is plugged into my computer, it fails to install the LGE Android serial port as a hardware. does anyone know how to fix this and get my phone out of emergency mode? Edited September 19, 2010 by Kinosaki
Guest doubletakeit Posted September 20, 2010 Report Posted September 20, 2010 Remove the battery then put it back in. Hold volume down and put USB cable in, your phone will be in emergency mode again. Now use KDZ updater to flash the ROM.
Guest Kinosaki Posted September 20, 2010 Report Posted September 20, 2010 My phone is already stuck in emergency mode and i can't get back to the normal screen. Also, when i tried to use KDZ updater i get an error and i can't continune.. Guest TheLostSwede Posted September 20, 2010 Report Posted September 20, 2010 Or try a different firmware file. Some files don't seem to work well with certain phones, can't really figure out why, but there appears to be a checksum that doesn't check out...
Guest Kinosaki Posted September 20, 2010 Report Posted September 20, 2010 (edited) Do the countries matter when i'm picking a rom to download? because my phone is from HK. So will it work if i download some rom from Europe for example? UPDATE: i tried to use several different roms but i keep getting this on kdz updater at this point, a "usb device is not recognized" comes up and that error pops up Edited September 20, 2010 by Kinosaki
Guest TheLostSwede Posted September 21, 2010 Report Posted September 21, 2010 I have the same problem with a fair few firmwares, but I get different error codes. It really is a trial and error process, but I guess you should try using a HK firmware such as this one http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/swdata/WEBSW..._00/V10B_00.kdz
Guest Kinosaki Posted September 21, 2010 Report Posted September 21, 2010 (edited) well. i tried that one already and at the most crucial moment, the "USB device is not recognized" pops up and the same error appears? what firmwares did u use? Also, did u have to disable the LG Android USB modem in order to make it work properly? cuz when i don't disable it, the computer won't accept my phone as a usb device at all. so it connects and disconnects immediately Edited September 21, 2010 by Kinosaki

You have to exit the PC Sync software though. It's possible that you've borked something, but emergency mode has always worked for me, even when a flash went wrong. I can only get my phone to work with the Baltic, UK Orange/O2 and Taiwan firmwares from the ones I've tried. I got the plain UK one working at one stage, but it won't install again... Go figure, but on all the other ones I get similar errors as you, but with different numbers. Edited September 21, 2010 by TheLostSwede

And also, i tried it on my other computer and its the same thing. so i'm not sure whats wrong. and can u give me the tool you used to flash? cuz maybe my KDZ updater or something got corrupted Also, when u were flashing, did you put the battery in? Does it affect the flash if i take the SIM card out or the SD card? Edited September 22, 2010 by Kinosaki
Guest TheLostSwede Posted September 23, 2010 Report Posted September 23, 2010 I'm using a version linked to here on the forum, they're all pretty much the same from what I can tell. Yes, battery in, SIM and SD card in, no problems.
Guest Kinosaki Posted September 24, 2010 Report Posted September 24, 2010 errr i dunno whats wrong with my phone. i tried it on 3 computers and the updates always fail.... when i use the official lg updater, it loses connection at analyzing stage. what should i do now... continue with this trial and error process?
Guest TheLostSwede Posted September 24, 2010 Report Posted September 24, 2010 Did you try the KDZ updater? If all fails I guess you have to take it to an LG service centre...
Guest Kinosaki Posted September 24, 2010 Report Posted September 24, 2010 (edited) UPDATE: i held down the vol down button and pressed power and the screen went blank but the usb still connected so i tried KDZ updater and it worked. everything is working normal again. Thanks for everything Edited September 25, 2010 by Kinosaki
