Guest Ind1 Posted September 20, 2010 Report Posted September 20, 2010 Hi Guys I did bit of video recoding using my Streak (720, HD) and my Streaking is running official 2.1 update. I used Pinnacle Studio to bring up all the clips from Streak, add music and bit of transitions etc. Then hit the create video under WMV format. Message indicates, unable to export files, in other words it was not able to create video. I think Streak records videos under MPEG 4 ?? (not sure) My questions: Anybody here, have used Pinnacle with Streak’s videos, or any other video edit stuff such as Windows moviemaker. And how did you overcome the problem. Do I have to convert MPEG 4 to WMV before I import them to video edit software? Thanks guys
Guest degriz Posted September 21, 2010 Report Posted September 21, 2010 do you have an mp4 codec installed? Also, might be wise to check pinnacles docs to see which formats it supports and if it is codec aware.

Guest StefanCh Posted September 23, 2010 Report Posted September 23, 2010 Thanks for reply buddy. I will check for pinnacle support formats. Meantime what is mp4 codec??? If you want to make your life easier, use K-Lite Mega codec pack. Just google it. It is free, and i have not come across any format i cannot play on my PC. I am not sure if there is a MAC version for that (in case you use one). Regards, S
Guest degriz Posted September 23, 2010 Report Posted September 23, 2010 Id disagree with that and suggest you only install what you need. Codecs are little bits of software that encode and decode certain types of data, in the case mp4. Have a bit of a google of look in wikipedia..

Thanks guys, managed to sort it out using Window's live movie maker - thanks for you advice.
Guest twe Posted September 24, 2010 Report Posted September 24, 2010 Yeh K-Lite is not the best, I have noticed this when encoding video I always get errors. Decoding is fine though. I think I used Windows 7 codec pack or otherwise try the community codec pack.
