Urgent Froyo Arabic support on HTC desire

Hello everyone,

I'm Omar, I'm new to the android OS tweaks and roms though i've been working as a professional software engineer for 4 years now and have some linux/unix knowledge.

My problem is that I am getting a long anticipated HTC Desire tomorrow morning and I really have a problem that there is no clear/sure way for me to enable arabic sms/html reading without risking corrupting this beautiful Bug-free device and without contradicting with the different apps.

So far what I know is that I have to root my device, install a rom (don't know which one) then get the arabic program from android market(ardoid.com).

What I need to know, has anyone tried this with Froyo? Does it work flawlessly?

I am really worried about this issue, I would really appreciate it if someone can give me some help here.
