Location of application files

hey all..... ive had my phone for 2 days now and i love it!!!! everything is stock atm and ive only juz started to look into dling applications from the android market... my question is, where are the client (installation) files for the applications stored on the phone after the download? ive done alot of searches and couldnt seem to find the answer.... i can run the applications fine and everything, i would juz like to know whereabouts on my phone i can find where it has been installed or where the client (installation) file is located on my phone... thanks in advance!

default apps are at /system/app

some of the user installed apps are at /data/app

do not use "myfiles" to look for them, use something like "astro file manager" or root explorer if you intend to root your phone.

depends what file manager you use, myfiles for example opens by default in /sdcard folder which can be empty, while the folder I was talking about is under the "/" directory (root of operating system).

what rom are you using? goto to settings --) about phone ---) build number
