Theming Questions & Theme Porting Requests

I originally created this thread with a question about themes, then I was given this idea by DanWilson :lol: See second post!

So the rules to this thread is:

1. You can ask any question related to theming Android, framework-res.apk etc.

2. Request a specific theme to be ported onto the Pulse / U8220

Please note that I am not offering to port any of the themes requested, I'm don't feel I'm capable at the moment.

If you want to port any theme that has been requested, please clearly indicate you are going to undertake that request on here. If anyone wants to help port a specific theme and somebody has already started the please contact that person to see if he/she needs any help.

I'll start the ball rolling:

Is it possible to have transparent or semi-transparent status bars?

Can we use this thread for any themes we'd like ported?

But on-topic, I really don't know. I'd say it's possible because surely a picture can be made transparent, and the status bar is a picture.

I've just tried changing the .pngs and it killed android...everything FC'd lol.....

If you correctly edit the 9.pngs there's no reason for it not to work

I did correctly edit the 9.pngs, it crashed Android soon as I unlocked the phone at the lock screen.....

Everyone's ideas on this forum come from me! I'm that awesome / I'm that lazy. :lol:

I've seen lots of themes I want ported but they're all like HD and stuff. And for screens different from us. And weird.

But still cool.

can you edit the lock screen so that it either appears transparent (i.e. with your home screen behind it clearly - or simply having the same appearance as your home screen) or blurred (in the same way as when you press and hold the 'off' key to bring up the switch-off menu)? I've had a look at the main lock programs and they all seem fairly limited in terms of customisable options. Is anyone else as annoyed as I am about the change in clock font on unlock?! Driving me maad!

very much of a noob to these shores but am most interested in learning about making themes - just setting myself a few home screen goals before I advance onto things like lock screens!
