Guest JimiB Posted September 21, 2010 Report Posted September 21, 2010 So... I broke my streak ages ago by leaning against a table and breaking the LCD (not the gorilla glass). I have been super busy at work and not had a chance to sort much out till recently. I was going through the process with my home insurance and they were asking for a quote for repair so they can determine if it's worth paying for the repair or a new device etc. Having sent my phone to Dell (via O2) to be assessed for repair I got a phone call saying they'd sent me a new unit. Upon collection I also found I had been supplied an extra battery which is a plus! So I have my trusty streak back (still at 1.6 for now). I was wondering if anyone knew if it's possible to use the wireless xbox headset as a hands free kit. I know it doesn't use blue tooth to connect but is there an app. available to send or mimic the Microsoft proprietary wireless signal. Cheers, J

I appreciate mine a hell of a lot more now its back too. Extra batteries woohoo  I think its the best accessory out at the mo, its great having a spare fully charged ready and waiting. I hope you can put the bad times behind you and just enjoy your streak.
Guest Dogmann55 Posted September 22, 2010 Report Posted September 22, 2010 Hi JimiB As yosemite-sam says welcome back and i to know how you feel as it took 29 days to get my issues resolved although it all worked out for the best in the end as I got a 32GB unlocked unbranded Streak as a replacement and having been without one for so long has only made me appreciate just how great a device the Streak really is. I was using a Galaxy S in the mean time and even with custom Roms on 21. i still by far prefer my Streak to it and by a long way. In fact since getting it back I'm currently sticking to the 1.6 4399 original firmware and really feel no need for a custom Rom at the moment. Especially as now you can easily Root and remove Root on the Streak with just installing Androot and the only reason i even need Root is to make taking screen shots easy. Marc
Guest popetodd Posted September 23, 2010 Report Posted September 23, 2010 Same here, I got a call today that I could head on down to the store and pick it up. When I got there they had given me a brand new one! Best part: it took Anovo just 3 business days to get it sorted, I am well chuffed!
