Guest JustinN Posted September 22, 2010 Report Posted September 22, 2010 (edited) Hi all, Background on my phone: I have a HTC Desire which I bought from Orange. I wasn't happy with the Orange ROM, so I used a goldcard and installed a Generic Froyo ROM (OTA_Bravo_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2.09.405.8-1.21.405.2_release4dua3bcrut4wrv30.zip). My phone has worked perfectly since the 18th of August with this upgrade. Today, Android released an update, which I'm guessing is to do with Gmail going into the App Store, and off the main ROM. I don't know the specifics, but basically, I installed that update over WiFi, it rebooted my phone and now I get "WiFi error", when I try to view my WiFi settings, same goes with Bluetooth settings. I'm guessing this update has broken my Radio? Can somebody help me get my WiFi back please? If you need any further info off me, just ask. - Justin [EDIT] Odd question, but would installing this possibly get my WiFi back? http://android.modaco.com/content/htc-desi...chen-2-2-froyo/ Edited September 22, 2010 by JustinN

Guest JustinN Posted September 22, 2010 Report Posted September 22, 2010 Did you do the update with your gold card in the phone? If not, there's your problem... Unfortunately I did not... I do have the goldcard, so is there a way to force re-install the update, but this time with the goldcard inside the phone?
Guest EddyOS Posted September 22, 2010 Report Posted September 22, 2010 (edited) Assuming you're on 2.09.405.8 at present, download this: http://fotadl.htc.com/OTA_Bravo_HTC_EU_2.1...q7rqarka2ka.zip rename it update.zip (not update.zip.zip) and copy it to the root of your SD card Turn the phone off, hold volume down and press power to get to HBOOT. Select 'Recovery' and when you get to the red ! press volume up and power and then select 'apply SD:update.zip' from the menu. Follow the instructions and it should work. And from now on, keep your gold card in the phone!! Edited September 22, 2010 by EddyOS

Thank you very much for the help, I'll make sure to Goldcard my other SD card card (bought a bigger one, and never bothered to goldcard it).
