Guest flashyphotos Posted September 22, 2010 Report Posted September 22, 2010 Have been looking for a decent car holder for the Streak for a while, not been happy with the standard fit all ones on sale, and could not berar to stump up for the offical Dell One! Anyway in HMV today, found these in the sale at £3 each Designed for the PSP but as they have sprung feet they fit the Streak like a glove and hold it tight, It is a quality mount and rotates from portrait to landscape. Really dont think there is anything else as good and for £3 is a steal, so if you are after a windscreen mount grab one from HMV. Here are some photos.
Guest marra2 Posted September 22, 2010 Report Posted September 22, 2010 Bargainous ! Good find thanks
Guest jannism Posted September 22, 2010 Report Posted September 22, 2010 (edited) What about the holding pads at the top? It looks like they're obscuring volume and on/off buttons - what's your experience? Edit - Never mind, I didn't see the 4th picture before writing that... Edited September 22, 2010 by jannism

It is clear of the Power and volume buttons, but does cover the camera button (Not that you need it when driving), it does not activate the camera button though, so there is no problem with it covering it. I did not picture the bottom of the holder but the PDMI slot is clear and accesible as well
Guest jannism Posted September 22, 2010 Report Posted September 22, 2010 Cheers. Looks like an in-store only deal, though and I'm in the middle of nowhere
Guest Dogmann55 Posted September 22, 2010 Report Posted September 22, 2010 Hi flashyphotos, Very nice find indeed i just hope the HMV near me has them in stock as that does indeed look excellent in fact the best I've seen so far. Marc
Guest fards Posted September 22, 2010 Report Posted September 22, 2010 damn I was looking at those in HMV the other day and didn't get one because I wasn't certain if it would fit...
Guest 323spoon Posted September 23, 2010 Report Posted September 23, 2010 I just took delivery of a holder from ebay for £15 so a bit more expensive but its designed specifically for the Streak. It has a hole for the camera, speaker and the charger and it doesn't cover any of the buttons. I know its a bit more expensive but its better than this £3 one and it beats paying Dell the fifty odd pounds they want for a car kit. Ebay Streak Car Holder

Guest fards Posted September 23, 2010 Report Posted September 23, 2010 Any one know where i can find a simple desk stand for streak? that's what I'm going to use this for if I can get one..
Guest 323spoon Posted September 23, 2010 Report Posted September 23, 2010 These are the best pics i could get. Cant really show it from the front because i dont have a camera on me but i took a photo in my car mirror so you can see the back with the camera and speaker holes. Its a really nice fit and the phone sits in a lip on the bottom then clips in at the top. Its a nice snug fit and whilst testing with some "spirited" driving it doesn't budge.
Guest Amdathlonuk Posted September 23, 2010 Report Posted September 23, 2010 That would almost double as a basic protective case as well.....
Guest fards Posted September 23, 2010 Report Posted September 23, 2010 local hmv don't have any in  really can't be bothered to go to birmingham to get one, so I'll nip into to GPS4less and get one of those at some point.
Guest roneill1972 Posted September 24, 2010 Report Posted September 24, 2010 (edited) Just bought one of these and wish I hadn't bothered. It's too tight to easily take the Streak in and out and one of the plastic holders sheared off on my first attempt to put the Streak into it. The quality's not great - I'd avoid. Yeah I got one as managed to snap the bottom plastic bit off when trying to take the streak out as it is a bit tight (just glad I was on the kitchen work top and my streak didn't fall too far !!). Now waiting for the superglue to set fully before trying again  in a padded room :) Daveo

Think I'm just going to use blutack. Edited September 24, 2010 by roneill1972

Guest noboard Posted September 24, 2010 Report Posted September 24, 2010 I just bought the air vent holder from GPS4Less £13.99 inc Delivery. It comes in two parts, a universal phone holder and then the streak case that slots on at the back. This mornings journey in was fine, didn't budge, but wasn't throwing the car around. Can easily use the touch screen for anything (when pulled over of course) and should make the satnav a useable function. Looks fairly cheap, but this is the reason I purchased it, should stop twats smashing the window looking for expensive kit. 8 protective covers are a useful bonus too. Finally ordered Wed. morning and arrived next day, so quick too.
Guest payneardo Posted September 24, 2010 Report Posted September 24, 2010 (edited) HMV Yep same here B) But now ok after super glueing the bottom plastic back on and now to be v careful with it  Edited September 24, 2010 by payneardo
Guest m4tt24 Posted September 24, 2010 Report Posted September 24, 2010 Thought everyone was talking about the GPS one for a minute there, all of a sudden they were all breaking
