Apps that prevent phone from sleeping. Should i be worried?

I have come across several apps that i would like to download, but i am concerned by the "prevent phone from sleeping" in the system permissions access. Is this an issue?, can i put my phone in sleep mode maually as i dont want to wake up to a drained battery.

Don't worry about it, some apps, like a media player, or a camera app, will use this permission for you to keep the screen on, when taking a pic, or watching a video..its quite normal on the list of permissions.

Most let you select on or off in the menu.
