Guest mslodyczka Posted September 24, 2010 Report Posted September 24, 2010 Hi All I rooted my HTC desire 8183 following the instructions of this page: theunlockr.com/2010/09/21/how-to-load-a-custom-rom-on-the-htc-desire-2/ Everything went through OK, so I went ahead and downloaded the following mod: android.modaco.com/content/htc-desire-desire-modaco-com/307881/27-may-r3-1-modaco-custom-rom-for-htc-desire-with-online-kitchen-2-1-eclair/ Version R3.1 I then following these instructions to install it: theunlockr.com/2010/09/21/how-to-load-a-custom-rom-on-the-htc-desire-2/ However, I accidentally 'wiped the cache' along with the dalvik cache. Then, after I had loaded the ZIP from the SD card, the phone won't start. It loads the initial Telstra provider start up screen. After this it is black with two blue lines running vertically on the left and right edges. Nothing more, and it stays like this. It no longer is recognised by windows to access the SD card. Any ideas what might be wrong and how I can fix it? Many thanks, any help will be greatly appreciated!

Guest aaaloha Posted September 24, 2010 Report Posted September 24, 2010 Can you still get into the bootloader menu? (vol. down togetterwith POWERBUTTON) In that case just try another rom. If that fails you can install the RUU (this would also unbrand most of the providers crap off the device)(be in the bootloader menu on the phone when executing that installation on your pc), but then youll have to re-root your phone which might include downgrading HBOOT aswell. So you might wanna try a different rom first. I dont think this is because of the SLED screen, then the screen wouldve been pitch-black. ps: since you have a branded phone, you should create and use a goldcard aswell.
