Different streaks?

hi all,

i would like to ask how many types/versions of Streaks out there?

Im currently in Hong Kong and i have just bought a Dell Streak running 1.6... in my Streak, there are some apps such as chinese typing and handwriting installed and the default language (after formatting) is Chinese simplified.....

so i just want to know how many kinds of Streaks are there in the US and UK, and does anyone know what version is it if it is directly from Dell?

MDC's 2.1 is only the normal 2.1 which doesnt have those special apps in it, right? and it seems to be more laggy than the original 1.6, correct me if im wrong :S

In UK there is the Red one and Black one, some are locked to O2, some are not, depending on how purchased.

In US there is the official Dell release one (locked to AT&T), then there are the unlocked Beta units, and the engineering test units that worked on T-Mobile 3G. All the US ones to-date are black.

To tell units apart I think you have to look at the baseband, tho flashing a new rom might affect that. If the one you have is red, it's either a UK/EU one with some custom software, or a new variety released for your area.

The Dell Streak team seems to specialize in slipping timelines. As a software developer myself, I certainly understand... but that doesn't make it any less frustrating from the customer standpoint.
