Debranded and rooted advice needed

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

My desire is now de-branded and has been rooted using unrevoked 3.2.1 my phone is not unlocked thoguh and is still tied to the Orange network.

The Super user icon is in the all applications list, I have done a full backup through the Rom Manager and formatted my card creating a swap file-fat32 partition and an ext3 partition of 500mb.

It works fine but I have so few apps installed (although Navigon mobile navigator is quite large at 18megs) and I am almost out af onboard storage space. What can go on the sd card has already been moved.

Please excuse this old guy who is admittedly very naive in the world of android modding and the terminology associated with it.

But I need you experienced guys to point me in the right direction.

Thanks for any advice you can give me,

From what I know rooting and unlocking phones are two different things just because you root the desire it doesn't mean it is unlocked and you can use it on any network. I am pretty sure you can find out on google how to do it. Since you've rooted it why not use Modaco A2SD+ ROM so you can free up your internal memory plus the FROYO A2SD feature
