Guest DanWilson Posted September 25, 2010 Report Posted September 25, 2010 Is there any app where i can use skype voice call? Skype to skype? Skype banned fring! SIPDroid?
Guest sfuportuguese Posted September 25, 2010 Report Posted September 25, 2010 try at pandaapp "skype beta"
Guest D-D- Posted September 25, 2010 Report Posted September 25, 2010 Nimbuzz. It's the only one working now after fring was banned by skype.
Guest thisweb Posted September 26, 2010 Report Posted September 26, 2010 Yeh, I won't be usinbg skype again after that backwards corporate behaviour. Besides because skype is so well known T-mob block it on 3G. Fring was superb (and still is completely free if you have other fring users on android or iphone, even over 3g.) It means an end to any call charges for t-mobile until they decide to charge astronomical internet charges, inevitably.
Guest Jeza Posted September 26, 2010 Report Posted September 26, 2010 (edited) Does Nimbuzz work correctly with the Pulse for Skype calls? I had a play with it today and i can make and receive skype calls using it, but neither person can hear each other. Also seems to defualt to using the speaker on the back on the phone (for the outgoing ringtone). Edited September 26, 2010 by Jeza
Guest D-D- Posted September 27, 2010 Report Posted September 27, 2010 Strange. It works perfectly for me on WiFi connection.

Guest Schwertfish Posted October 5, 2010 Report Posted October 5, 2010 The official Skype app is now on the market. Seems to be working quite well. http://blogs.skype.com/en/2010/10/android.html
Guest rulerofkaos Posted October 5, 2010 Report Posted October 5, 2010 Skype works for me, but the app is about 9MB and it consumes a lot of RAM.
Guest Ellia Posted October 5, 2010 Report Posted October 5, 2010 Skype works for me, but the app is about 9MB and it consumes a lot of RAM. Fortunately we have A2SD and swap :).
Guest rulerofkaos Posted October 5, 2010 Report Posted October 5, 2010 Fortunately we have A2SD and swap :). Of course, but it lags sometimes, altough I got swap.

Guest ogiogi Posted October 5, 2010 Report Posted October 5, 2010 Not available on Uruguay :(, doesn't show on store, using FLB 1.6b Wasn't showing for me too but it did show with Market Enabler ;). Installed and works fine with swap :)
Guest Harash! Posted October 5, 2010 Report Posted October 5, 2010 Even though I use FLB 1.7 with swap and a2sd, it still took ~5MB from my phone memory :/ I'm down to only 9MB now :)
Guest flip360 Posted October 5, 2010 Report Posted October 5, 2010 works OK here apart from being a memory hog
Guest Fusion0306 Posted October 5, 2010 Report Posted October 5, 2010 works OK here apart from being a memory hog It can't sign me in :)
Guest D-D- Posted October 5, 2010 Report Posted October 5, 2010 (edited) My guess is somehow skype detected the IP adress of our phones internet and disabled the function for all the countries than USA. But I hope the americans can't sign in too, so it would be skype problem, not our problem. :S Edited October 5, 2010 by D-D-

Guest Fusion0306 Posted October 6, 2010 Report Posted October 6, 2010 Yeap i can't sign in too. Was working fine earlier. :) I tried to sign in couple of minutes ago and it worked. I called a friend and the calls work awesome. I couldn't find the "off speaker" option though (like regular calls, phone on ear). The quality is exeptional, the friends voice was crisp and clear and he said that he can hear me better than through my headset mic on my pc. I was holding my phone about 20 cm from my mouth.
Guest D-D- Posted October 6, 2010 Report Posted October 6, 2010 Yep. Skype app fixed. It was a global thing. :)
Guest Simon Taylor Posted October 6, 2010 Report Posted October 6, 2010 That app is huge, I really need apps on my sd now! almost 9 Megs!
Guest craigb244 Posted October 6, 2010 Report Posted October 6, 2010 uses a monster amount of ram too... about 11MB
Guest curl66 Posted October 6, 2010 Report Posted October 6, 2010 It can't sign me in :) for me ,too. but works wenn you press back button instead of pressing "log on - forgot password" in the window strange. seems very beta. and heavy. fring is much better
