I still don't understand what exactly is the problem. Yes some text is black but where is this text? In what part of the rom? Which ROM?

I can't see what text is black or a problem either, but that is the Eclair contacts app though...

Edit: @cn-tao: the text is supposed to be black, but it should have a grey highlight as TaiwanCHT8k posted above. Seems as though you/or are using a modified contacts.apk?

Yea it's the stock one. I got it from the 2.1 sdk way back when BigBear had that 2.1 leak, but the icon colours are different to mine which suggests it's been modified hence the problem lol

I'm using FLB mod and I have the same black text problem.... you have to open recent calls, then open an incoming or outgoing call, and there it is... black text below the incoming/outgoing call white text.

Do you mean from apps after odexing them? If so then I don't know of a way just using dexopt, but Paul's odex script (only for /system/app/) does it automatically so you may find a clue in the script http://android.modaco.com/content/htc-hero...r-unodexd-roms/
