Guest rjm2k Posted September 27, 2010 Report Posted September 27, 2010 It may just be mine but if you are thinking of buying a PAYG SF and putting in your Orange contract sim it may not work, I just tried this with a friends sim and it would not connect to the orange network!
Guest Paul Posted September 27, 2010 Report Posted September 27, 2010 It works OK here with my wife's Orange contract SIM? P
Guest fluxcapacitor Posted September 27, 2010 Report Posted September 27, 2010 (edited) Maybe you tried a 2G sim and tried to connect to orange 3G? Does the sim actually have 3G written on it? Edited September 27, 2010 by fluxcapacitor
Guest lonegunman Posted September 27, 2010 Report Posted September 27, 2010 Works great with my contract sim.....
Guest rjm2k Posted September 27, 2010 Report Posted September 27, 2010 hmm interesting, the sim i tried doesn't have 3g written on it though the guy says it is 3g and he gets 3g on the display when he uses it in his hero. I tried another contract sim which does say 3g on and it worked perfectly!
Guest daniel_owen_uk Posted September 27, 2010 Report Posted September 27, 2010 Works fine on my 3g sim
Guest JokerNJ Posted September 27, 2010 Report Posted September 27, 2010 I put my 2G SIM from my Blackberry 8900 straight in and it worked. It works for GPRS and EDGE. Is the original SIM data enabled? Which handset did the SIM come from?

Guest blackmath Posted September 27, 2010 Report Posted September 27, 2010 (edited) I didn't even use a PAYG sim. In the orange store, I put in my contract SIM straight away to test if the phone was working. 3G and everything. The preset network settongs are all correct. Something I checked. Some networks have different APNs for Pay Monthly and PAYG so you may just need to change the settings. Or would it not even connect for calls??
Guest aerotec Posted September 28, 2010 Report Posted September 28, 2010 Oh heck! Been a member 6 years and that was my first post! Hello MoDaCo world! Lol!
Guest grogan197 Posted September 28, 2010 Report Posted September 28, 2010 I'm also having this problem. The phone recognizes the contract sim but will not allow calls or txts to be sent. Screen goes straight to call ended without explanation. I have tried 3 orange contract sims all with the same result. I have unlocked and put r2 on the phone but the problem has stayed the same throughout. Currently using it with an asda mobile sim which works fine. Strange thing is the phone will display that I have voicemail and lists my phone no. in the settings. So def communicating with the network fine. The sim I was using is a 3G one too. Any ideas on a fix?
Guest wolseley Posted September 29, 2010 Report Posted September 29, 2010 Any ideas on a fix? This is the same problem as in this thread: http://android.modaco.com/content/zte-blad...ms-not-working/. Orange have a block on the phone until the PAYG SIM it shipped with is activated. I had the same problem getting my contract SIM to work (data worked fine) until I activated the PAYG SIM that the phone shipped with.
