Some newbie questions

Hello all,

I'm a newbie to the site and to android in general until this bargain of a phone.

Just like to say what a great and helpful forum this is!, many thanks to Paul for his rom, I managed to root and install the rom, think i did it right went by the instructions.

would like to ask a couple of questions if possible.

LO

1. on the sd card it has quite 5 files diskcache.tmp, are these files supposed to be there?, there is also a LOST.DIR folder?.

2. When I first installed the rom on one of the pages of the phone it had a sign saying problem loading logo or something like that I just dragged it into the menu and it went is this ok?, and should it happen.

3. How do you install the apk files like the htc ime keyboard I have tried putting it onto the rot of the sd card, then going to user control but it can't be found?.

4. Finally is there an app which allows you to explore the sd card and phone rom files and delete and rename files etc?.

Sorry if the questions are obvious but i'm totally new to this, great on a pc but haven't done any of this, would have goggled normally but unsure if there are different methods with different phones and different versions of android.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Just installed file manager and found out that you can install apps from that great, also realised that you must put the apk file in andriod data folder.

I think this is right if not please let me know, seems to easy to be true.

Also i'm reading a lot about froyo 2.2, is this the latest andriod os?, if so will the san francisco get this update?, or is the cpu to slow?.
