Guest jlgmax Posted September 28, 2010 Report Posted September 28, 2010 I unlocked my San Francisco using the $3 online unlocker - works fine and Ive managed to create a working o2 Internet APN, but Im struggling with the o2 MMS (simplicity contract) ? Could someone please post the values which I need to enter into each field to get MMS working properly ? Thanks !

Guest JackSF Posted September 28, 2010 Report Posted September 28, 2010 (edited) I had the same problem. I created another APN as follows: Name:O2 MMs APN: wap.o2.co.uk Proxy: http://wap.o2.co.uk Port: 9201 Username: o2wap Password: password Server: http://mmsc.mms.o2.co.uk:8002 MMSC: http://mmsc.mms.o2.co.uk:8002 MMS Proxy: 193.113.200.195 MMS Port: 8080 MCC: 234 MNC: 10 APN Type: MMS This APN will not be selectable. It will get your mms working though I reckon. Edited September 28, 2010 by JackSF

Guest jlgmax Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 Has anyone had any success getting this to work on o2 simplicity contract ? Im still unable to send / receive MMS messages
Guest zuccster Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 Has anyone had any success getting this to work on o2 simplicity contract ? Im still unable to send / receive MMS messages  I'm working on this. Looking at the radio log, the APN changes successfully when trying to send a MMS, but tcpdump says nothing then goes thru rmnet0. I'm a bit stumped. I'll stick the Orange SIM back in and see what happens there.

Cant actually remember where the local.prop file is located though !

Cant actually remember where the local.prop file is located though ! Yeah, as flibblesan said here. Doesn't make any difference here. The radio log seems to suggest the correct apn has been selected (based on the mcc/mnc), so I don't think that's the issue. Edited October 1, 2010 by zuccster

I have no experience of manually setting up a phone to work on another network; I have a SF and an unlock code (not used yet) but I'd like to run it on my existing O2 PAYG sim. Are there some instructions to make everything work on an unlocked SF with O2? Total newb-friendly if possible :-) Thanks.
Guest chipper333 Posted October 3, 2010 Report Posted October 3, 2010 (edited) I am struggling to send basic txt message from SF with a O2 sim, i have tried entering the service number +447802092035 for Pay & Go but it doesn't seem to save ( it just flashes ) I have used adb push to copy across various apns-conf.xml found on this and other forums but still i can receive txts but not send. I realise its probably me as i am a total newbie to these kind of phones. Any help on how to set it up to send a txt would be greatly appreciated as its now causing me serious headaches, however i did manage to upgrade the rom without to much hassle :) Regards Solved! I put in new O2 sim and it worked so i can only imagine there was a problem with the sim being a few years old. Hope this will help someone else who might be having the same problems. Guest jlgmax Posted October 3, 2010 Report Posted October 3, 2010 So does this mean that MMS is unlikely to ever work properly on the San Francisco on o2 ?
Guest rinkrat Posted October 3, 2010 Report Posted October 3, 2010 So does this mean that MMS is unlikely to ever work properly on the San Francisco on o2 ? I have the same issue with Giff Gaff. Got the GPRS working fine but cannot get MMS working ! Anyone got a San Fran working on GiffGaff MMS yet please? Thanks Rinkrat
Guest zuccster Posted October 3, 2010 Report Posted October 3, 2010 So does this mean that MMS is unlikely to ever work properly on the San Francisco on o2 ? Well I'm stumped tbh. My radio log while attempting to send a MMS is here if anyone else cares to take a look (around line 204). Tcpdump reports no request to the MMSC, or proxy is ever sent, so I can only assume the APN switch fails, but it's not clear to me how. If I get a chance, i'll look at a successful MMS send on my Pulse and compare.
