Alright you legends (Mods and Conts  ), just wanted to say a big hello and thank you. Received my Blade from Orange today after a week of browsing HUKD and MoDaCo.

Been awaiting my leg-up into the Android scene for a while now after letting my ex keep my linux eeepc, and now my Blade is rooted and ROMed just fine after your sterling work, Paul and others. I agree with the buzz, this phone is a fantastic and affordable entry-level piece of kit for the likes of me, and many of you too I gather.

Just curious: now that I'm apparently su I still don't appear to be able to remove any apps (haven't set passwords or anything). Tried with a few (WWTBAM & Guitar Hero for example), but no remove option in the Manage Apps section. Any tips?

Thanks again, looking forward to see what other magic you lot are capable of.

Normally, /system is mounted read only, which is where pre-installed apps reside, hence you can't remove them.

I use 'Root Explorer' from the market to remove APKs from /system/app (the glu games have filenames starting 'glu'), but there are other utilities available and you can also use ADB from the command prompt.

Oops, you can tell I'm a n00b for not browsing for the solution first! Thanks chaps, I'm well on the way and sticking MoDaCo on me RSS.

Right, I went the Root Explorer way (fantastic looking/performing file manager, cheers for the tip) and have deleted the /system/app/*.apk's that I didn't want.

I'm confused about the Manage Applications item in the Settings though, cos it still seems to list all the stuff that I've removed. I crash the process when trying to click through them so they're surely gone. Is there a location where this information still hangs about or is it a problem with Manage Applications or something else I've missed?

I got the same problem as you when I try to remove empty applications from "Manage Applications".

However, I never used to have this problem with I was using my Pulse. So I guess it is either the kernal or the recovery image?
