T-Mobile Content Lock

When I was running FLB 1.2 the T-Mobile content lock seemed to disappear as it stopped blocking Twitter, though why Twitter is so evil I don't know, but since moving to 1.6b it seems to be back again. It blocks Twitter on both the actual Twitter app & on Tweetdeck beta but both are OK on a wifi connection.

I think you need to turn it off at My T-Mobile

That's the solution I know but never seem to be near a T-Mobile shop when I've got id. Just wondering what the difference might be between the 2 FLB versions that would make a difference?

Can't use My T-Mobile to do it for PAYG.

I don't know. Your best bet is to ask flib.

Any thoughts flib?

No very important in the great scheme of things, just curious.

Content blocking is done by the t-mobile servers so if you're connected to the net with 3G or GPRS you'll be blocked.

You can call them up to remove the block also.

T-Mobile does content blocking? I mean, pr0n and stuff like that is acceptable, but Twitter?

That sounds like those countries who enforce internet censorship...

Is that... normal on the UK? Portugal may have its faults, but at least it's a free country and Twitter (or anything else) isn't blocked, on ANY internet provider.

Just my 2 cents...

Thanks - maybe it was a coincidence that their blocking wasn't working for a while & when it restarted it happened to be when I installed 1.6.

Still don't quite understand why they block Twitter though particularly since they use it for support.

Oh well a minor mystery.

They block the oddest things, even competitors websites!

Discovered that if you text MODERATE to 879 it removes the lock on Twitter, YouTube etc.

If you log into the online account you can create on the T-Mobile site, then you can also uncheck content lock too. Although you will have had to have paid for the phone with a debit/credit card online as thats how they verify that you are over 18.

I seem to remember you can phone them up and give the automated service a credit card number as age verification and it removes the lock for you.

I made the mistake of going into the T-Mobile shop on Chiswick high street.. Trying to stay frosty when asking a stunning sales assistant to remove the pron block on my phone was difficult!

As long as your children/parents didn't hear that

Now that's weird! T-Mobile UK has a content block? I never heard of that in Austria ...

Best regards,
