Is anyone else having trouble with the mains charger for their San Fran? I've had to charge through my PC twice now because the mains charger just won't take.

I found that the battry level indicator didnt move when plugged into mains - the red led on the back button flashed but the phone did indeed charge even though it appeared that it wasnt.

The join where you plug the USB cable into the mains charger is a bit iffy on mine. If you move it slightly it disconnects

Did you get it to work after some wiggling flux? It must be a little bit fussy but I didn't wanna wiggle around too hard in case I damaged it.

Yeh it works, it's just not a great fit. Feels like it should plug in deeper but doesnt. Works in my iPad charger just fine

I have a different mains charger problem.

I bought a Nokia charger which has the same micro USB connector. It appears to charge the battery but while connected the touch screen stops working. It's rated at 5V 890mA

is this the charger you're talking about?

i need a charger with an eu plug (since i got the phone with uk plug)

but i'm not sure if any micro-usb charger will do the trick

anybody had any experience with that? (for example with a nokia N97 charger?) thanks!

I ended up having to buy a cheapo charger because my included one doesn't work. It's the same deal for me, 5v at 1000mA max output, the charge time is quick but the phone is unresponsive while it's charging. I don't know enough to decide whether it's causing any damage or not, but if it's not I'm happy enough with it.

Yes, any microUSB charger will work, it's a charging standard now.

I have exactly the same problem.

The LED shows red but it will not charge. Only the USB charging works.

Can anyone recommend a mains charger?

Thanks

My mains charger is rated 700ma. and charges the phone incredibly quick.

Via USB it takes around 7-10 hours for a full charge. Via Mains - just over 2.

Only problem is that the phone does get quite warm while usb charging.
