It wouldn't surprise me that the people selling the phones on ebay for profit are reading these forums, found how to unlock the phone, and know that so many people in other countries are desperate for this phone and are willing to pay a little extra.

I don't like it either, but getting another 2, spending a few minutes on unlocking and putting clean images on them, you could sell them and effectively have paid for your handset!
