Help with the 2.1 update [PROBLEM SOLVED]

Hi!.. I'm having trouble with updating my GT540 to android 2.1, i've been trying for 4 hours but still not working for me.

Anyways, when I try to flash it, it says

[R&D Test Tools Log File]

22:22:18 : Start fn_StartUpgrade

22:22:18 : Extract kdz file

22:23:59 : kdz decrypt Success

22:25:30 : Extract file Success.

22:25:30 : LGMobileDL Load.

22:25:30 : Port = -1

22:25:30 : Connection check start.

22:25:30 : Port(or Device) Not Found!

22:25:32 : Finish All test

I think the problem is "Port(or Device) Not Found!

What should I do? Please help me

I'm on Windows XP if that matters..

If that's the file name, that's a version of 1.6, not 2.1 :lol:

yes u r right, he is trying to update 1.6 to 1.6 haha. u need to choose the v20 not v10 my friend.

How did you do it, i get the same error :lol:

VERY IMPORTANT

You need to go settings>applications>development(its the last option)>USB debugging(the first option).A pop up will appear saying this option is for developers and blabla.... press ok

this setting will allow content to be copied in ROM, meaning that you can install android 2.1 to phone

I've got exactly the same message! I have turned on debug mode and disabled to use it as a mass storage device only.

Please help!

Found my solution. I was using a kdz file with a 173kb size, instead of the right one (~125mb size).

If you blocked the phone stopping it from updating ( on the phone apear just white lg logo and no android logo), reset the phone (take the battery out and put it again ) and turn on pressing volume down +camera key+ power button , after that it will apear "download mode " on screen. Now just try KDZ_FW_UPD.exe with V20B. I've done that way and worked for me .

Sorry for the late reply, but make sure "Mass storage only" is off. Mine was on and I turned it off then it worked. good luck
