Probably a carrier recognizing some fundamental Desire rom stuff in the MCR. Don´t update anything OTA when your rooted or running MCR or other costum roms.

Update manually via MoDaCo if you need the newest MCR release. Don´t ever expect, this is my presumption at least, MCR to be able to update OTA.

redroom> Probably the Gmail app that is now out of the system and from the market.

If you really want to get rid of it and stay with MCR, update to latest r9 WIP.

Won't be possible at the moment, the user is not an Adfree/Premium member, no kitchen access.

Perhaps there should be an option to disable system settings update within the kitchen and within pre-baked offerings...or a notice advising new ROM users to do so as this q is asked frequently.

Well in any case don't update OTA. If it succeed you will have lost root.
