Hi Thunder141,

I am still on the stock O2 rom from Bell (canada). I'd like to try one of the lite Roms. However I've had a problem finding cabbed versions of all samsung apps. I'd like to preserve some of them. You've done a great job posting them in one place. Thanks for doing it. I have a couple of questions though. Are they for 6.5 or 6.5.x roms, I've read that it makes a difference? Another question, are they going to work in English roms or they are exclusively for German ones. I do need them in English.

P.S. Sorry my mistake just noticed that it is post for omnia pro not I8000. Even though I don't think it is going to make much difference for the majority of the apps, because the screen resolution is the same on both of them.

Yes for the portability. But half an no for the use with english roms. I have a german stock rom as a base, so my converted cabs have only the 407 mui files inside. If your rom has left the 409 mui files you can use my cabs, otherwise you should try the other cabs from the sticky collection thread

Edit: JC2 Cabs shouldm work with WWE, too

Downloaded a few armani ones.

My findings:

On english rom, the soft buttons of contacts and also the right one change language to German one.

Settings cab of armani couldn't be installed due to certificate error.

Armani Settings is old settings, jc2 is settings fixed for lite roms.

Of course, not all 409 mui files are included cause i didn't get them yet.

But most of the new uploaded jc2 cabs should work with wwe roms

You can, perhaps you must remove the 0407 mui files after installation with resco file explorer or something similiar, because this files can make the ui language german. (AddIn.exe.0407.mui and DMC.exe.0407.mui)

First try to find dmc.exe in \Windows folder. If it's there try to start it. Check, if the .lnk is perhaps under \Windows\Startmenü instead of \Windows\Start Menu

Some files have the language inside. They don't need any mui. Some have an additional mui file for the language. If you change the mui file, you have dialogs in another language.

Some files need a mui file, but if you don't have the corresponding mui file, you can take a mui file and translate the strings with ressource hacker. The way is: First unsign the mui file, then open with ressource hacker and translate the strings, save the file with let's say app.exe.0409.mui and then resign the file. I found here in the forum all the three apps. signer, unsigner and res hack.

But for a complete change of the language of a rom, you need also the corresponding sys folders. They are in the rom language , too. For example the Base_Lang_0407 folder is for german.

For language change thera are this steps:

All the 040x folders of the sys must be in the language

You need the OEM_Lang_040x Folder for the language

All files which direct to language specific pathes like Start Menu, StartUp, etc. must be changed

Apps with extra mui files do need the correct mui for the language.

So it isn't such easy to change the language with changing some files. But you can change the language of an app provided by cab very easy, if the dialog strings of the app are managed by a mui file.
