My Short Review and Some Questions

I started using htis phone today and I am delighted with how good it is.

The scrolling thing is very responsive as well as typing. I just wish I was fast at it because I am a fast typer with a normal keyboard (pc/laptop) as well as mobile phones with a normal keypad using disctionary.

This is my first android phone and using the internet etc. seems very easy.

I am on Orange so I didn't unlock it or root it or anything. May do that later just to find out what others have to use this product further.

I have one question. I went to the app market and downloaded an app. It says "started downloading" but it's stuck on that. When is it going to complete? I've been on that page for awhile now.

Also, I'm using wifi at home and the signal is great. The internet is very fast, faster than my laptop. Anyway, I want to make sure it doesn't ever connect to Orange internet or whatever that would charge me, as I do not have internet on my pay monthly contract. Could I have some instructions please?

One last question is regarding the text messages. It's different to the phones I have used before in that you go to menu - messages - inbox and each message displays individually. It's also different to going to menu - messages - compose message and typing a message there. I have a problem with this because I'd rather see all the messages individually than in a thread. Also, when composing a message, you can see all the previous messages from the thread (which I want to keep but I don't want it to be seen when writing) which I want to revert to old ways.

Can anyone help me on the above points please?

I wanted to take off threading because I don't like it when people read over my past messages whilst I'm typing, just self concious I guess.
