Phone not ringing out/sending txt's unless powered down/back up

I've unlocked mine, then rooted and rom'ed it

using it on T Mobile and twice now I've tried to send a txt but get a statement back 'message not sent', so tonight tried ringing out too and phone ends call.

was showing 2 bars signal, powered phone down and back up, now showing 3 bars, got 5 txt's in and managed to phone out/send txt's again

now I know it could be a network related problem but I've not had a problem before so was wondering if anyone else has a similar problem?

^ same here.

i noticed that when my phone is in that state, i.e can't ring out and receive calls, if you look at the operator on the Lock Screen it will say Orange, my sim is on 3.

so now i've registered my Orange sim using the following link:

still not put sim in phone though, will see how i get on with it now.

I have the same problem, after the phone has been on for a while i cant make any calls, as soon as i try it says call ended. What's even more weird is that the data link continues to work when this happens.

I am on three and am using paul's MCR rom.

Very weird issue but, as dui says, did you activate the phone using the Orange SIM before unlocking it and using another sim? Did you buy the phone online, phone or store?

I did not use the orange sim at all, i dont see why that would be an issue though.

same here, but i read somewhere that the sim has to be activated, so i used the link i posted above to activate my sim and have now put the orange sim in the phone, it's been a couple of hours so i will now replace the orange sim with my 3 sim and see how it goes.

I haven't had this problem on my SF, which is unlocked and ROMed. It was on Orange until unlocked but is now on T-Mobile. It says T-mobile on the lock screen. Phone bought in store.

My wife's phone went straight onto Tesco mobile. Unlocking it was the first thing I did though it is still running the stock firmware. She is complaining about the phone locking up and not making calls today. Phone bought online.

Will investigate what the phone says on the lock screen when she gets back from work.

Bought online and unlocked immediately without using Orange sim at all but I've just been playing and noticed it only happens after using Google maps.

As long as I don't use maps it's ok

Can someone try the same and let us know

I tried using google maps for a bit and then calling, it worked fine.

When it did stop working again i tried calling my phone, it didnt ring and went straight to voicemail.
