Guest chris9181 Posted September 30, 2010 Report Posted September 30, 2010 I'm afraid am moving over to the Orange SF and wondered what an A1 condition Pulse would fetch (not a blemish on it). Original Box is A1 as is everything that came in it. It is a stock Pulse withthe Dec 2009 update, locked to T-Mobile. CEX will offer £45 but i wondered what you folks thought please?

If you unlock the pulse (~£12 at http://www.unlock-tmobilepulse.com/) I think you can increase the value of the phone by about £10-15. Also, I think you should update the phone to 2.1, either by installing the UK 2.1 update or installing a custom rom like FLB-MOD. I think you should be able to sell it for about £60-70. I don't know, I'm not a salesman , but that's my estimation. EDIT: The Pulse costs £99 on PAYG. So I think my estimation is pretty accurate. Starting on £45: £45 - selling price for locked, 1.5 android pulse. +£10-15 - unlocked £55-60 - unlocked 1.5 pulse +£5-10 - android 2.1 £65-70 - selling price for unlocked, 2.1 android pulse. Sadly unlocking the phone doesn't add that much more to the cost. The current price of £99 is too expensive considering you can get better phones for the same price. It makes the Pulse less attractive to buy and affects the second hand market also. You should be expecting £50-£60 if you sell the phone. But considering that CEX would pay £45 for the phone if it's in mint condition, and unlocking is £12, then you have to question if it's worth unlocking before you sell. Personally I would only unlock the phone if you have a potential buyer lined up, or just sell it minus the cost of unlocking and let the new buyer unlock it.
Guest chris9181 Posted September 30, 2010 Report Posted September 30, 2010 Many thanks both. I dont think i will unlock, just see how it goes on ebay. Cheers Chris

Guest Armadillo1 Posted September 30, 2010 Report Posted September 30, 2010 I'm also strongly considering selling mine as 3 network somehow manage to lock it after I had it unlocked and it can now only run on T-mobile again. But that would make it even worth less I suppose? I've considered trying a Turbo sim card but I suspect that won't work.
Guest solongmarriane Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 It looks like your are aiming way too low... http://tinyurl.com/36ztoyg I guess you have to admire their optimism. Or is there really one born every minute? B)

How do 3 maange to lock their cards and/or Pulse????

B) That is a "Buy It Now" price. That's just the price the seller wants for the Pulse. It doesn't mean that he's actually SELLING pulses at 174.99. A Pulse costs £99 on PAYG. So I doubt that he sells any pulses at that price B)
Guest giryan Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 I just sold mine for £30. I didn't really feel right asking more for it given how flakey they are

I hope they're not selling any at that price. If they are I want to know who to. I plenty of gear they can buy. B) B)
Guest solongmarriane Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 I was half thinking about getting a SF and letting my wife have my Pulse. But then I thought why not save some cash and buy another Pulse 2nd hand. Not sure if its worth paying another £50 - £60 to get the SF. Is it going to be that much better than the Pulse?
Guest guyh1 Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 if you search for 'completed listings' you can see what they've been selling for... used generally go for £30-70, new for £90-150 :-o obviously a few serious pulse enthusiasts out there
Guest rjm2k Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 (edited) OMG Pulses are selling like hotcakes on Ebay, average seems to be £55-£70 , I just got £65 for mine and another used one just went for £92 ! Edited October 1, 2010 by rjm2k
Guest AntonioPT Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 Not sure if its worth paying another £50 - £60 to get the SF. Is it going to be that much better than the Pulse? I guess depending on your usage of a smartphone... The SF is really better than the Pulse, but you have to ask yourself: "Do I really NEED the SF, or am I just OK with Pulse?"

Did you use a remote unlock code originally and if so have you tried the same code again?
Guest Armadillo1 Posted October 2, 2010 Report Posted October 2, 2010 Are you sure about this lock? Did you use a remote unlock code originally and if so have you tried the same code again? I'm not sure if it's called a "remote unlock code" but I bought a code from Paul which unlocked the phone originally. Now, however, it doesn't ask me for a code when booting up with a 3 sim (or sim from any other network - I've tried Vodafone as well). All it shows is "no service - no sim" or something similar. Works fine with the T-mobile sim though. I got a iSmart sim the other day but that didn't work, so I was just wondering if a Turbo sim might work or I should try to sell the phone, but with it being locked to T-mobile I'll probably only get peanuts for it :)

Guest fraxos Posted October 3, 2010 Report Posted October 3, 2010 I am getting similar problems. Now my Pulse will only work with the T-Mobile sim card in it. However, I also have an additional problem in that despite having the correct APN settings for T-Mobile I cannot at any point access the internet. Given that all these issues started after T-Mobile replaced the motherboard on my Pulse I suspect there is some form of foul play. Any ideas anyone?

Interesting. With the first code I can go to "project menu -> network settings -> sim card lock state query" which is the closest I can get to that but it's just a query. No option to enter unlock code unfortunately.

Guest ken218 Posted October 8, 2010 Report Posted October 8, 2010 I put mine on eBay on Wednesday evening, sold it 2 hours later for £70 including P&P.
Guest wassupjg Posted October 9, 2010 Report Posted October 9, 2010 Sold mine recently on ebay for £85 including £3.50 P&P; was unlocked, offering also an 8gb sd card and extra usb cable. Make sure you upload a decent number of clear pics, a clear description stating if you've taken good care of the phone, plus list it for 10 days (if you don't mind waiting) for max exposure. I also posted a thread about it in the modaco ebay section. Got more than I initially paid for it, taking Quidco into account.
