Hi

Can anyone please help.

My Dad has a HTC Desire with Orange, it is Unbranded and Unlocked.

I am trying to Root his phone at his request, as he has seen the benefits that I have had as I have rooted my HTC Desire, but I am having no such luck. B)

I have rooted my own phone months ago, but did not do any of the Orange 2.2 updates as I do not like Orange as they just send loads of rubbish to your phone which you can't rid of.

Back to my question: Can anyone please tell me if it is possible to Root the HTC Desire after the Dreadful Orange 2.2 update?

I have been working on this for 4 days solid now and I am shattered feeling as though its a problem with the updates from Orange.

I tried using Unrevoked and I have read that it will not work with phones with the boot 0.93, but only hboot 0.92 or below as other people have had the same problem.

I am new to this and I am slowly learning more and more about Android Phones.

If anyone can help and give me some advice of how to go about this to get this sorted, I would very much appreciate it.

Many thanks in advance B)

Would be really keen to know this myself. And what's so dreadful about the Orange 2.2 update?! I can finally see it on my device (clearly doesn't pay to be an early adopter...) and was contemplating doing it tomorrow, but thought I'd do a little reading first...

Thanks in advance for any feedback...

Yep, all you need to now is unrEVOked 3.21 will root ANY Desire on ANY HBOOT from 0.93 downwards...ROM version is irrelevant

Many thanks for your help. Last time I tried using unrEVOked it wouldn't root the phone and I could see I wasn't the only one having problems with it.

I will give it a try.

Many thanks to "desyre" and "EddyOS" for your helpful comments :)

Much Appreciated
