I know that the DK one supposedly had bugs in it itself but wasn't the UK one supposed to be released early this week? (Wishful thinking I suppose :) ). I know I could just backup and install the DK update but I know I'd just screw up the phone (which already has enough problems waiting to be fixed!). Cheers.

This is almost a perfect quote from the latest literature sent down to CS. Hope it clears up any speculation!

Guest cseilern Posted February 7, 2003 Report Posted February 7, 2003 well, given the gargantuan time frame (more than ONE YEAR!) between the time MSFT said they would ship a smartphone and the time they actually had one shipping, I would not trust anything they or orange said. Basically, it's the same ol'tune and yuo have hope for the best and expect the worst.

The update question has been ragin on for months now - Orange themselves promised an update before last year is out, however since then there has been no 'official' statement about the UK update. Recent statements have said end of Feb to March - but didn't I here the same thing last year for the end of December? I realise OCS cannot be held reponsible for passing on information that they themselves have not been given - but there must be a 3rd line department actively looking at the update and have a rough idea when it will be released. Telling OCS that the update will be avilable 'soon' is simply not good enough - what does soon actually mean? i.e. Earth WILL be hit by an asteroid soon but there is no firm date!
