Battery issue

Hey guys. I need your advices because it seems like my battery life isn't that good...

I installed Modaco's R9 with all the "scripts" from Sub501. Last night, i went to bed at like 1 am, left my phone with 68% of battery, i woke up at 10pm (yes i'm still on vacation ) and my phone was already at 48%... 9hours, 20% of battery doing nothing... That's an average of 2-3% used per hour when the phone is "sleeping". So sure i have facebook and twitter updating every 15min but is that what's been eating my battery life?

Some of you guys say that your phone last sometimes 2 days! Don't you have any sync of any kind besides Gmail?

I'm a bit confused. Help me guys xD

I would love to get 2-3% per hour. With data on I currently hit 6-7%, so twice what you're getting. This is with the battery scripts etc.

Do you really need to have facebook and twitter updating every 15 minutes? Strikes me as being a bit excessive.

Yeah u right maybe it's a bit excessive xD I'm thinking maybe once an hour would be good.

@spammyspam are you talking with the phone's screen off? Maybe i expected too much of my battery... It's just that i read here and there that some managed to last 2 days with "normal use". Maybe i don't have a "normal use"

Thanks for the responses anyway.

Yes, this is overnight etc. I think data is my biggest drain.

Definetly data is what drains the battery. I usually switch off wifi/data during the night and it drops 1 or 2% max in 8h.

Actually I just switch on data when I need it (almost never). That's the best way to have max battery life.

For example, I haven't plugged my phone for more than 24h and I am at 43% battery. With a wifi session this morning and 3G data yesterday afternoon.

I do use SetCpu and beyond 50% of battery the max of my CPU is 768Mhz tho.

I also noticed that MCR with Wifi-N eats battery much faster than Wifi-G.

I have a tasker profile set to turn airplane mode on between 1am and 6.30am and another to toggle it on for 1 minute every 30 during this time. Works a treat and coupled with a few other power saving tasker profiles means I can eek out up to 2 days battery life with light use.

Follow the steps below to calibrate your battery. Battery calibration should double your battery life.

-Connect the charger and charge for 6 hours

-Disconnect the charger and power the phone off

-Connect the charger and charge for 1 hour (while the phone is off)

-Disconnect the charger

-Power on the phone

-Wait until it has completely booted then power it off

-Connect the charger and charge for another hour (while the phone is off)

-Disconnect the charger, turn on and use your phone

Your battery life should now be way better. After doing this, my Desire has 20-40% battery left at 10pm (I unplug it at 6am).

Do this only once. Doing it again will have no results.

Do you have the source of this information or any explanation of why it should work? (It sounds magic to me)

Magic, but it works! I saw that on a french forum and tried it, excepet that it only said to reach the "green led" everytime (but the steps are the same). I charged my phone at 13pm yesterday and today at 21pm it has 27% left! I'm more than happy!

It's so awesome it creates new times, like 13pm and 21pm!

It's called calibrating your battery, as it's possible when your battery is 100% it's not accurate and may not be.
