Guest seekr Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 Did anybody else noticed how, for example, if you plugin a pair of iPod headphones (w/ mic) the audio is very low and sounds like it's coming out of a jar? I compared the jack contact lengths between the SF headphones and iPod ones and noticed there's a minute but noticeable different in the lengths. I wonder if this will break the universality of this 3.5mm jack. I was use to carry my iPod touch and my LG GT540 (which I traded in for the SF after using it for 1.5 month) and only the LG headphones because they were compatible (I could use the mic+button on both devices) but not with SF's headphones.

Guest Gibbo501 Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 I plugged in a pair of old Sony walkman ear buds and some Sennheisers - perfect sound quality and volume from both.

So the Jack on the default headsets will look different than ones on standard 3.5 headphones  Shouldn't make much difference.. Just may have some incompatibility with oddly shaped 3.5 jacks (I can think of several)
Guest neologan Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 one thing I've noticed is that the volume is pretty limited on my Klipsch headphones, and that's a bit disappointing. I remember that with a Sansa Clip+, if you choose your destination as Euro, EU laws mean the max volume level is limited down, but if you choose USA as your area, the volume limit increases massively. I wonder if that's why the volume level is kinda weak on this phone... and i wonder if there is a way around it?
