Guest rm9 Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 (edited) I got error: "Writing BOOT" "E: no space left on device Error writing BOOT failure at line 415. installation aborted" I flashed back to r21 and it worked. Do I just need more space on the phone memory? Or something else? I tried deleting some apps and I have over 34MB of free space and it still didn't work. MD5 was good. Using amon-ra 1.7.0.1 Thanks. Guest d4rkspike Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 I dont suppose we could get trackball wake included as well? Everything with the install went swimmingly, but I miss it already!

Guest mlevin Posted October 2, 2010 Report Posted October 2, 2010 I'll be issuing a new MCR next week based on FRG83... Including trackball wake! P Hey Paul, Will that be the whole kitchen configurator deal where you can choose which options you want? Looking forward to a FRG83 that has apps2ext support. Thanks
Guest Kesey Posted October 2, 2010 Report Posted October 2, 2010 I received the same error as well: Writing BOOT E: no space left on device Error writing BOOT failure at line 415. installation aborted After a restart I'm at: Android version: 2.2.1 Baseband version: 32.36.00.28U_4.06.00.12_7 Kernel version: 2.6.32.9-27240-gbca5320 android-build@apa26 #1 Build number: FRG83 Strange. I guess that means it updated just fine?

Guest ENDRI Posted October 4, 2010 Report Posted October 4, 2010 Same problem over here too Not possible to update. Please Paul help us we are getting crazy with this damn OTA getting in the way ALWAYS
Guest Kesey Posted October 5, 2010 Report Posted October 5, 2010 Received a similar error message when using the latest update: Rooted / deodexed / busybox / trackball alert with radio update zip download (recommended) Writing BOOT E: no space left on device Error writing BOOT failure at line 415. write_raw_image PACKAGE:boot.img Boot: installation aborted
Guest nachod0g Posted October 5, 2010 Report Posted October 5, 2010 It seems like 1/3rd of the boot.img file is garbage data and that's why it won't fit. Looking at a couple of other ROMs they don't seem to have this, weird.
Guest Paul Posted October 5, 2010 Report Posted October 5, 2010 Yeah, random! I'm uploading the fixed zips now... P
Guest rm9 Posted October 5, 2010 Report Posted October 5, 2010 (edited) Links updated, apologies! P Flashed the update, rebooted , got the android-yellow-arrow-box icon, auto booted into recovery , got formatting cache. rebooted again and now I'm stucked at the colored X icon (non-animated). Update: Wiped cache and dalvik cache , rebooted, still didn't work. Wiped cache & dalvik-cache, rebooted, worked. Thanks Paul :) Edited October 5, 2010 by rm9

When I change from ROM I only do a wipe/factory no cache wipe.
