custom rom to get a BT keyboard to work?

Hi there,

I recently stept into the world of pocket pc's and custom roms by getting a HTC Desire and a iGo Stowaway BT keyboard.

I figured that hooking up a hardware keyboard to my Desire was an easy thing to do. I was wrong.

After several day's of investigating the issue on the net I found that it had something to do with the Bluez bluetooth stack HTC delivers with the desire. (obsolete, outdated, not compatible, etc.)

My question is: does one of the latest custom roms for the Desire (r8 or 9) include another stack than Bluez?

And if so: does anyone has any successful experience with pairing a iGo Stowaway with a Desire?

I realize that I'm a complete newbie on this matter, but if there is any confirmation that a custom rom makes it possible to take notes on my Desire I'll get to work right away.
