Guest Clarkey15 Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 (edited) Hey guys, the 2.1 update for the Optimus has been released in certain countries and I managed to get a link to it. Please note I or Modaco can not be held responsible for anything that may go wrong in the process and all upgrades are performed at your own risk. Please make a back up I am not familiar with back ups so please do not ask me, ask on the forum. You may also want to remove your Sim Card and Memory card prior to installing the Rom. Just to be safe Things You Will Need: LG GT540 2.1 Rom KDZ_FW_UPD (Google it, I think it's warez) First thing to do is Enable Debugging to do this go to Settings -> Applications -> Development -> Check USB debugging When you have downloaded KDZ_FW_UPD extract the archive then open the folder where you have extracted the files. Next you want to open the application named Windows Enabler. When this program is running it will be in the task bar. Left click the icon once to make the program active. Go back to where you extracted the files and then run KDZ_FW_UPD.exe. When the program is open the option may seem greyed out, but once clicked they will come active. There is a drop down menu at the top of the program make sure it is selected to 3GQCT. Extract the V20B_00.rar file I have uploaded then select open file (denoted by the folder icon in the program.) Now connect your phone and click the button underneath the filename. Your phone will now go into emergency mode and start installing. The phone will reboot when done. If you're having problems make sure your phone is not set to Mass Storage Mode only by going to Settings -> SD Card & Phone Storage -> Deselect Mass Storage Only. If you are still having problems turn off your phone and turn on your phone while holding Volume up to manually turn into emergency mode. Edited October 1, 2010 by Clarkey15
Guest N3tieb Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 You forgot to mention that you have to enable "usb debugging" or the program cant write on the phone.
Guest Clarkey15 Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 Thanks I knew there was something. Added!
Guest tokobot27 Posted October 2, 2010 Report Posted October 2, 2010 Thanks I knew there was something. Added! How about the EnablerDLL.dll file
Guest Carbonize Posted October 2, 2010 Report Posted October 2, 2010 I think you need to change it to say that the first thing you need to do is back everything up including your apps (using Astro is a good way) as it will all be gone when you update.

Guest Prince of Dreams Posted October 2, 2010 Report Posted October 2, 2010 Did you run Windows Enabler first and activate it? Yes I did, I even ran both as administrator and still no joy, I am sure I read about someone else having the same problem but I cannot find the post
Guest he6rt6gr6m Posted October 2, 2010 Report Posted October 2, 2010 I did write something similar to this in another thread. http://android.modaco.com/index.php?s=&...t&p=1420633
