Guest TheLostSwede Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 I'm sorry, but there are way way way too many people here who can't read. This is a forum, people post advice here, not step by step instructions, nor do they guarantee that things will work as intended. There are a bunch of things that can go wrong when you're flashing your phone and rooting it if you don't know what you're doing. If you don't understand the instructions, then this isn't for you. Rooting the GT540 got a lot more complex with 2.1, but if you actually spend some time doing some research, it's really a matter of downloading some software, typing a few lines of instructions, not code, and you're done. Also, please, please, please bear in mind that people on this forum are not responsible for you bricking your phone or messing something up.

Well this goes without speaking, its standard netiket as we call it  But, with many new unknown forumusers, there are several who doesent seem to get it, post problems, not discussions, fix their problem instead of discussing it, bad english, badwords etc. Also, thats why theres forum mods, to keep the forum in check, lock threads, ban users who spam and all that. And yes, flashing wasent as easy as click...wait...done, and does require some simple knowledge of cmd/adb commands, or the ability to copy-paste so that could be quite difficult if you got neither.

While I agree with you , with what you say, it still should be an idea to post an easy to follow guide, as i bet, nearly everyone at some point in their life or indeed on the net, has wanted an easy to follow guide or GUI, rather than one made up from gobbledegook or chinglish(or in this case polglish/rusglish.. B) B) And seeing as the main language on this fine forum  is English, then shouldn't most posts be in some form of legible English, rather than broken translations of (already in some cases), already badly translated language(Here's looking at you Bable Fish, and Google Translate). If a disclaimer is posted, or indeed instructions aren't followed, it really does go without saying that "on their own head be it". Edited October 2, 2010 by RottenFoxBreath

This is why I posted the guide to upgrade to 2.1 it's a simple guide in plain (as good as I can get) English, most people speak a little english and is able to understand it. On the other modding site I'm on there are guides for everything no matter how simple and it's pretty useful for new comers (especially to android) who don't know what theyre doing.
Guest TheLostSwede Posted October 2, 2010 Report Posted October 2, 2010 There are simple to follow guides here already, but no-one seems to bother reading them. Two people made step by step guides as to how to root the phone, two slightly different ways, but both work. Despite this there are comments that complain that they don't understand and that someone should make a simple guide without any code...? I mean, really? Without code you can't do it... And there are as many native English speakers there that I have as hard time understanding as those that aren't, and no, I'm not from an English speaking country myself.
