Guest csr_cafc Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 Hi Guys, long time reader 1st time poster! Cant find much of a discussion on this one...what do you think is a better device? Voda have the Wildfire on PAYG @ £140 (think you can get it down to £126 with a code) and obv the SF is around £100. Price wise they are similar but the SF has the better screen and processor but personally i like the HTC styling and Sense UI could be a plus - not used one properly on android and only played with it on a mates HD2. What do you guys think? Im usually up on these things but this will be my first jump onto android and know nothing! Cheers
Guest Frankish Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 If you like Sense then go Wildfire, it also has the better camera. If Sense and camera are not that important definitely Wildfire. Best plan of action is to go to a shop and give both a try.
Guest tmobilepulse Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 got to say the wildfire has a rubbish screen.
Guest spoonium Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 (edited) The Wildfire has only 240x320 (QVGA), meaning that not all apps will work for it out of the box, unless the developer has specifically set the "small" option for his app (which is trivial enough to do, but for some reason not all have set this). Basically that was the only reason I haven't bought a Wildfire yet, and I guess in retrospect I was lucky, as I'm now trying to get my hands on a San Francisco. If I find someone willing to ship it to Germany. Edited October 1, 2010 by spoonium
Guest myfeetsmell Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 I cant really coment on the Wildfire but bought my mrs a san fransisco and when you have got rid of all the orange stuff its great for the money, my mrs is really happy with it. I would be interested in other opinions on the wildfire as the price is also loking good for that with the discount code.
Guest twogubs Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 I was getting the Wildfire for the wife but the screen swayed her towards the SF(+ her contract is Orange so no unlocking required). She wasnt too fussed on Sense as i don`t have it on my Desire and she likes the vanilla android.I`m impressed with the SF for the price,it does all that my wife wants.
Guest steve1221 Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 I bought my daughter a Wildfire 3 weeks ago (If only I'd known!!) and an SF for me last Sat. The build quantity on the Wildfire is better than the SF, but the screen on the SF just blows it away. Spec wise there's not a lot in it, they both have wifi, gps, 3g, BT and they both run 2.1 (but hopefully the SF will have 2.2 soon and the Wildfire is getting it this month I believe). From a looks point of view the Wildfire appeals more to the lady's. Both my wife and daughter prefer it to the SF. . .

I'm an Galaxy S owner, and have just ordered an SF for the princely sum of £79 all in. Why did I order the SF when I have a Galaxy S? God knows....curiosity, I guess. I love my Galaxy S, but fancy having a playabout with the SF then handing it over to my son for Christmas. Then my luddite OH can have my son's Galaxy Portal. I have never been impressed by the Wildfire. Edited October 1, 2010 by prufrock
