Guest sorrowuk Posted October 2, 2010 Report Posted October 2, 2010 http://www.cyanogenmod.com/ This custom android rom is available for quite a few devices but not the orange san francisco. With the source code of this is it easy to port it to the orange san francisco ?

I should have my phone in about a week, so give me a week after that and I will hopefully have a work-in-progress release out. I don't think flibblesan has sent the phone yet, so it will be at least a week before I get it.

Guest Bouncer5 Posted October 2, 2010 Report Posted October 2, 2010 Yay. And I'm waiting for phones to be delivered myself so I can send them out  How many did you buy? And send them to who for what and when and why? And can I have one? B) (Don't ask don't get B))

Guest subvertbeats Posted October 2, 2010 Report Posted October 2, 2010 Excellent TomG thanks, look fwd to it!!
Guest seekr Posted October 2, 2010 Report Posted October 2, 2010 Running the risk of being a bit off topic... what does it involve to port cyanogen rom to other phones? kernel source? I'd be interested in being more involved in the tinkering the SF in the future...
Guest Bouncer5 Posted October 4, 2010 Report Posted October 4, 2010 When it is ported can we possibly get the option of menu to wake and press menu twice to unlock....? I like trackball to unlock on my desire, but well, theres no trackball on this device :)
Guest mr_bridger Posted October 14, 2010 Report Posted October 14, 2010 Any update folks? i like CM6 on my G1, but to have it on the SF would be fantastic!
Guest screwface Posted October 14, 2010 Report Posted October 14, 2010 If you want CM send CM a san fran handset and get him the kernel source.
Guest Spooke Posted October 14, 2010 Report Posted October 14, 2010 Would it also be possible to get MIUI? That looks really nice :)
Guest acolwill Posted October 14, 2010 Report Posted October 14, 2010 In short: no. The current source is incomplete. It does not compile, thus no custom ROMS. The current source is Eclair. There is no Froyo source, period. Using the search button would have found all of these answers already.
Guest sensory Posted October 28, 2010 Report Posted October 28, 2010 So is a CM port to the SF not on the table until the source becomes available?
Guest Rem1x Posted October 28, 2010 Report Posted October 28, 2010 So is a CM port to the SF not on the table until the source becomes available? Yes.
Guest Aquilo Posted October 28, 2010 Report Posted October 28, 2010 Yes. A fully functional port at least. My understanding of the current situation is that there are problems with OpenGL and the radio. And having to adapt the ZTE kernel is less than desirable.

Guest tocixxx Posted October 29, 2010 Report Posted October 29, 2010 Yeah, it boots, but is really slow (lack of EGL), and RIL is still not up to snuff. But at least we have a start. Yeah, and this is as good As it gets, cause ril and Egl are both Kernel related..
Guest rawsnake Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 (edited) At the risk of sounding like a complete noob (which I am in any case), Considering that we have a kernel (is there any difference between having a kernel and having a kernel Source because I assume that the kernel is built around the source) now is it possible to port cyanogen 6 onto the SF Also, if it is possible to port it will we need a new gingerbread source to port Cyanogen 7 or will we just need to use a rom manager or modify 6?
