Unlocking Liquid Simlock

Hey all,

For people with simlocked Acer Liquid, it seems that you can remove the simlock by following the following instructions. It's in French but should be easy enough to follow.

Short run-down of the instruction:

1) download the amss zip file

2) have a ".bin" file ready. ( I think any .bin file for Acer Liquid should be fine)

3) Run Acer Download tool and manually select QCN file which is included in the amss zip file called "desimlock.xml"

4) boot with "Volume+ & camera & power" and connect the usb cable. The screen will remain blank but should be able to be seen by the computer.

5) Flash!

I have a unlocked Liquid but might be getting another one locked from my carrier since my contract is up and should be able to get one for cheap..

Ran thru these instructions on my liquid e, seems to have worked, however i've only got E service now, not 3G or H anymore. Not sure if thats a co-incidence or not.

after rebooting i've got 3g and hspa service back again, havn't tried a non-rogers sim in my phone yet, hope to do that later today.

As I have mentioned, I dont have experience on this but it seem to be working for people on other forum. Hope yours work! I am outside of Canada right now.. waiting to go back to get my Fido version of LiquidE with contract hehehe.. I am using an unlocked Liquid from Taiwan right now...

Didn't work for my rogers acer liquid e :-(

I put in a buddies sim card and booted up, and it asked for a PIN to unlock.

You know.. you probably still have to enter the PIN code.. it's just there to make others not being able to use your sim-card:P

So, ask him for his PIN-code and try again. :)

This method absolutely does not work for me. The phone is still locked as ever, and won't let me use a Fido SIM in Canada. Very frustrating. Uploaded BIN Acer_LiquidE_4.504b.00_EMEA-GEN1_05.01.05_f0b006c4dce996774c5ba6a17fcbf9c7.bin along with AMSS and desimlock.xml. Total fail.
