Guest MyStErEoN Posted October 2, 2010 Report Posted October 2, 2010 (edited) After reading the thread on boot animations, I decided to give it a go myself.. using a couple of free 30 day trials of flash software, I used a swf maker and a swf to png converter.. It was really easy to do with little or no experience of using the software.... And made the following... But I'm scared to test it in case I brick my streak... Any advice please??? Can it really be this simple to do?? If so why aren't more people doing it??bootanimation.zip Edited October 2, 2010 by MyStErEoN

Guest MyStErEoN Posted October 2, 2010 Report Posted October 2, 2010 (edited) And could I get some help from someone with a full version so I can get rid of the text in the corner?? I've done a Modaco bootloader and a couple of variants of my first attempt so far.. Could a number of zipped bootloaders be sunk into an apk so a boottheme app for rooted devices could bring some revenue for the site maybe??NEWBOOT1.swfNEWBOOT2.swf Edited October 3, 2010 by MyStErEoN

Guest MyStErEoN Posted October 2, 2010 Report Posted October 2, 2010 (edited) I renamed it bootanimation.zip and put it in /system/media No luck im afraid renamed my attached zip?? It's already called bootanimation.zip ?? Hmm, the images are 24 bit in the original.. What software do i need then??? Edited October 2, 2010 by MyStErEoN
Guest 80sLoveCHILD Posted October 2, 2010 Report Posted October 2, 2010 Also, it would be VERY difficult to brick your streak by just replacing the boot animation ;-) Thats why i tried. Surely bootanimation could nver brick a device. Ive rooted, changed roms and done all sorts and not bricked it. And i cant even turn the dishwasher on. Xbox anyone pgr?
Guest MyStErEoN Posted October 2, 2010 Report Posted October 2, 2010 (edited) Ok maybe brick is the wrong word, but I seriously can't be bothered reformatting and resetting the whole device if it doesn't work.. It appears to be easy to do , but it can't be that easy, hence my reluctance to bite the bullet.. However I know some of the guys on here will know at first glance if it's a goer or not... 7 .png files in part0 with a desc.txt as follows "800 480 30p 1 0 part0p 0 0 part1" and the original Dell png in part1 Edited October 2, 2010 by MyStErEoN
