Hi

Have had my Orange SF for a week , love the phone esp the screen quality

However have an annoying problem with phone

Sometimes when power phone on cpu runs at 90 - 95 % and phone response is really poor ( the process using this cpu is the Android process) , only way of getting the cpu down is powering phone off / on

High cpu happens about 1-3 power ons

Have factory resetted , formated SD card etc , still the same

Is there a known problem / fix or should I be looking at returning ?

Many thanks for your help

Regards Steve

Just found out local Orange shop is open today , so going to exchange if possible or get cash back

Just wanted to know if this high cpu is a known problem with the SF or I have I just got a faulty one

Sounds more like a rogue app that has some sort of race condition.

Swapping phone will likely cure the problem but suspect the fault is not hardware related.

I agree howeve there are no apps installed apart from as shipped ..

The process which is randomly racing is the Android OS ..... bit of a bummer !

Same thing happened to mine, flased with the MCRi rom. I'm not too fussed. Fixes itself on a restart anyway.

I had this issue i found it to be the touchpal input method when i ended this task the cpu usage went down to about 20% from 90%.

I have the updated touchpal installed from the market though so i not sure if its the exact same issue, but if u are using touchpal end the task see if it helps
