Guest phillai Posted October 27, 2010 Report Posted October 27, 2010 Thanks Davie for those O2 settings on my new Orange San Francisco phone. Internet is great on this phone and is much better than my old Nokia 6303!
Guest Michael Harper Posted December 12, 2010 Report Posted December 12, 2010 Just wanted to chime in: These settings work great for getting o2 3G working :) I used an iPhone simplicity sim, but the phone is for my girlfriend - incase anyone is wondering, pure payg sims are the payg settings, but the newer '30 day rolling contract' sims are the contract settings, Thanks again to this forum!

Hi Guys I've got and o2 12 month simplicity contract and am using SS RLS5. I followed Davies advice, and now I get some kind of service but I just get a 'G'. Before when I put in an Orange sim, it explicitly said 3G. So I'm thinking 'G' must be 2G or some sort of lesser service. I have found that if I also choose "O2 UK Postpay MMS" from the list of APN names I also get 'G' service. I tried texting 'ACTIVE' to 2020 but I get a message back saying "Unfortunately we had problems dealing with your request for settings. Please contact customer service". They aren't much help. So am I right in thinking 'G' isn't full service and if not, how do I get it? Cheers guys, El
Guest iphone-defector Posted July 21, 2011 Report Posted July 21, 2011 Great post - only got the Blade device today but thanks to this info now connected to o2

Thanks for these instructions. I unlocked and flashed my San Fran yesterday with Android 2.2. I put my o2 sim in this morning and sent the ACTIVE text to 2020. Got a text back saying "...problems dealing with your request..." So I came on here. "Tap Mobile Networks" is as far as I get. The APN option doesn't appear in my options. I have Data Enabled, Data Roaming, Network Mode, GSM/UMTS Options, Enable always-on mobile data. Any advice? thanks in advance.
