Guest Fok@ Posted October 4, 2010 Report Posted October 4, 2010 Hi Everyone. My 1 year old HTC Hero died (digitiser) week ago and I have sold it for 60 pounds. Instead of buying new digitiser for 30 pounds I have bought San Francisco. I have to say SF>Hero without a question! SF feels a little bit laggy atm but I remember first Hero soft 1.73.x.x wasn't better at all. Ofcourse I got used to few thing from Hero like Overclocking, RA Recovery, Sense UI. Will it be possible in the future to port some decent Sense ROM and have some nice Recovery Menu? Looking at the price we should have joining few devs to our group. What do you think ? :) Thanks

I think we'll be getting clockwork, not too far fetched from RA Overclocking>Damn right.
Guest BigBearMDC Posted October 4, 2010 Report Posted October 4, 2010 I've been working on the T-Mobile Pulse, and once I can afford the SanFran I'll work on this phone also :) (don't worry guys I'll still work on the Pulse even when I get a SanFran ;) ) Vest regards, BB
Guest mrbez Posted October 5, 2010 Report Posted October 5, 2010 I've come from an Hero as well. I think the SF is a far better phone in every respect apart from the Camera - which I barely use anyway. With the r3 rom it's even quicker now - when you consider the screen is much higher res as well it's performing so much better than the hero ever did imo :)
Guest fcknghll Posted October 5, 2010 Report Posted October 5, 2010 I've got the Hero currently and looking for a stop gap phone for about 3-4 months (i think the Hero has gone as far as it can), is the blade a worthwhile temp upgrade? the overall speed is it better? I'll be selling the Hero so it wont cost me much Thanks!

Guest amoebauk Posted October 6, 2010 Report Posted October 6, 2010 I too have gone Hero->Blade. I find everything quicker/more responsive and the screen much nicer on the Blade. My only grumbles are the power button to unlock, and having the same onboard app memory as the Hero. Oh, and I guess 2.2 would be nice.

I've got a HTC Magic, which is just a notch under the Hero, and I've been considering whether it's worth getting a Blade instead. What really annoys me is how laggy the Magic is with Cyanogenmod 6 (2.2), but even before that I found it quite slow. Build quality on the Magic is great though.
