Guest Bouncer5 Posted October 4, 2010 Report Posted October 4, 2010 Trying to root/flash was using ubuntu live cd but apprently I can't do that, Currently using windows vista, got a driver off this forum somewhere and installed it, But I am completely confussed on what to do now! So instructions writing for a "dummies" book would be handy! Glad I rooted with unrevoked on my desire!

I wrote a quick, simple step by step here: http://android.modaco.com/index.php?s=&...t&p=1427204 I will make a proper guide eventually :)

Guest Azurren Posted October 4, 2010 Report Posted October 4, 2010 (edited) That link eventually takes me to the main news page Sorry about that. Keep forgetting that those generated links don't work :) Tis easy: Simple quick step by step: Download fastboot and superboot / MCRi http://android.modaco.com/content/zte-blad...emo-now-online/ Unzip fastboot and place the superboot / MCRi file in the same folder Turn off your phone, turn on while holding Vol+UP (For a good 10 seconds) Plug in your phone I'm guessing your using windows? ;) Open cmd.exe (Command prompt) type: "cd c:\the\path\to\the\fastboot\folder" (Copy and paste from the address bar if you want to cheat :() Enter then paste this: "fastboot-windows flash boot boot.blade.superboot.mcri.r3.img" REV 3 Paul :P Enter then: "fastboot-windows reboot" Wait, unplug and there you go :P And for the custom rom: Download the latest from here: http://android.modaco.com/content/zte-blad...deo-now-online/ rename it "mcri-system.tar.gz" (The entire file, don't extract this one. If you don't see the file extension ".tar.gz" then rename it to "mcri-system") Copy it to the root of your SD card Reboot your phone (Auto install FTW!) If it applied (You will know :() then delete it from the SD card I'll make a "The Ultimate San Francisco's Owners Guide" when I get more familiar with the device B) Edit: :( spam? :( Edited October 4, 2010 by Azurren
Guest Bouncer5 Posted October 4, 2010 Report Posted October 4, 2010 Sorry about that. Keep forgetting that those generated links don't work :) Ah okay it was the navigating to the path part, and the rest I guess, I shall give it a nap after i've rested and my head is on straight, Once this phone is all sorted, time to move onto the desire, its its out of date google backups (Why must it insist on reinstalling 48 apps, grrrr)
