almost there, please help

having spent the best part of 3 days on this phone, with a number of problems & various issues

I hope and prey I'm almost there, I have rooted the phone (I have the superuseer app)

now I only need to copy the renamed file onto the sd card

guess what, I have done this but nothings happened, still got all orange apps etc

btw I have renamed it by copy & paste mcri-system.tar.gz

I'm using windows 7 pretty certain I've read a few posts where its been mentioned about renaming the file slightly different, anyone confirm this

or help as to where I'm going wrong

You have downloaded this one right?

(Around 80mb)

Rename it to "mcri-system.tar.gz"

(But if you don't see the .tar.gz in the file name rename it to "mcri-system")

Place it in the root of your micro SD card and reboot

I download the r2 downloads on Saturday night

have been having no end of problems since then

do you suggest wiping the microsd card then downloading these files again, starting from scratch

I have the correctly name winrar file on my sd card, however nothings happening when I power off & on

getting more & more pissed off with this phone

I have got a superuser app so I assume its rooted correctly

I have just downloaded the latest r3 file

tried renaming it still won't f@@ken work

Open Explorer

Press ALT, then click on Tools then Folder Options

Goto View and UNTICK:

Hide Extensions for Known File Types.

For good measure, TICK:

Launch folder windows in a separate process.

Press apply.

Plug in phone, mount SD storage

Browse to phone.

DELETE ALL FILES THAT END IN tar.gz or tar.gz.gz

Find the r3 rom you downloaded beforehand.

DRAG AND DROP mcri-system-blade-mcr-r3.tar.gz.gz onto the SD card.

click ONCE on the file, press F2

rename the file to: mcri-system.tar.gz

EJECT the phone from Windows.

Power the phone off

Power the phone on

Wait.

You should calm down, if you are not patient enaugh for doing these, you should stick to a lot simpler phone. Linux and Android are not for everybody.

THANK YOUUUUUU!!! :P Btw love the medaco.com logo in the middle when flashing - it makes a read difference to knowing if the file transferred has worked or not. X

to get 2.1 download KDZ_FW_UPD and also download russian 2.1 with fastboot then open windows enabler when it appears in desktop start menu bar near clock click it so it says on then open KDZ_FW_UPD click were cdma is and change to 3GQCT then click ??????????????? and wait a while then it should reboot your phone once or twice it rebooted mine twice if need to know something message me at [email protected]
